Academia International School is an officially accredited exam centre for Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CIE). At our campuses in Basel and Zurich, we conduct IGCSE- and A-Level- exams for both internal and external candidates.

When Do Exams Take Place?

We offer exams during all major international examination windows:

  • May/June: Main exam session for Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge
  • October/November: Selected IGCSE- and AS/A-Level-subjects (Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel)
  • January: Selected AS/A-Level-subjects (Pearson Edexcel only)

Registration Deadlines

  • May/June session: Register by end of January
  • October/November session: Register by end of August
  • January session: Register by end of October

How Do I Register?

Internal candidates
Our academic team will guide you step by step through the internal registration process.

External candidates

    Contact the exam office in Basel or Zurich
  • 2
    Confirm subjects & exam details (written, oral, practical)
  • 3
    Fill out the registration form and pay the exam fees
  • 4
    Email the payment confirmation to the exam office
  • 5
    Receive your Provisional Statement of Entry – please review and confirm
  • 6
    Two to three weeks after the deadline, you’ll receive your individual exam timetable and instructions

Access Arrangements / Special Needs (SEN)

We support a limited number of students with diagnosed learning or medical needs by providing approved Access Arrangements.

These may include:

  • Extra time
  • Use of a laptop or computer
  • Supervised rest breaks
  • Separate room or alternative setting

Important:

  • Requests must be submitted at least 12 weeks before the exam session begins
  • A current diagnosis (not older than 2 years) must be provided

Exam fees depend on:

  • The number and type of exams
  • The exam board (Edexcel or Cambridge)
  • Access Arrangements
